On The Issues
I don’t believe that the first job of government is to say no. Government can be a force for positive and creative change — to build, to educate, and to protect. I am running for Senate in order to improve public education, protect our civil liberties, and start building an economy that works for all of us.
Education
Supporting Public Education: A Commitment to Equity and Excellence
Everyone says they support education, but in the legislature, support means funding. I support fully funding public education in Minnesota.
Civil Liberties
Fighting for Civil Liberties: A Commitment to Justice and Freedom
Civil liberties are the foundation of a free and just society. Protecting our democracy requires unwavering dedication to individual rights, ensuring that all people are treated with dignity and fairness.
Economy
Economic Vision: Creating a Tax Policy that Works for All of Us

Beliefs
Simon Believes
We must fully fund our public schools.
Public money should be spent for the public good.
Workers are the very heart of our community, and the needs of workers must be met.
We should subsidize childcare instead of insurance companies.

Nobody is above the law.
Healthcare decisions, including reproductive health, should be made by healthcare professionals and their patients.
Immigration is not a crime, and immigrants are a vital and vibrant part of our community.
Tax policy should focus on making life easier for those who are struggling, not those who are already succeeding in this economy.
Every person deserves dignity, fairness, and freedom to live their life without fear of discrimination or harm.
Equal opportunity cannot exist theoretically; it must be thoughtfully implemented and protected
